Here is our goal: To create a web-created presentation using one of the vast resources on-line to create and compile every work of William Shakespeare on one site! Your job is to take one of the plays written by the Bard and represent it well so that if a person would like a new view on an older text, they may have that information here.
Steps to creating this masterpiece:
1. Research the play. Each of you have a title, so use any research materials to gather data on the play, it's characters, it's themes, etc. Be sure to document each of your resources in the post. You must use one of the materials that is in the Shakespeare box and at least two others to back up the data you found.
2. Read the play. No, really, read it. No, I'm serious. Read the play. Don't skim. Actually take the time to discover if the research matches your reading of the text. Be sure to read the actual text and not a "more reader friendly" version. Not that these are bad, but we are creating a document for all to use and it is vital that you are an expert on your text. So, read the play.
3. Go to http://cooltoolsforschools.wikispaces.com/ to find the tool or tools that you would like to utilize for this assignment. Once you have found one or two that you think will work with your vision of the presentation, explore the tool and become an expert on this tool. Then make a storyboard of what you would like the presentation to look like from beginning to end. Then make the presentation and edit it for time, clarity, and function. It should be between 2:00 and 5:00 minutes. (Time) It should make sense to the reader who is looking for a nice summation of the work. (Clarity) It should actually work in the blog itself or a link from the blog. (Function)
Your work will be graded on these three items, plus the project being ready by the due date: 4-6-10.
30 points for each section and 10 for being ready on time. 100 points total.
If you have any questions, please reply to this post and I will clarify for you.
Have fun with this assignment and above all, "To thine own self be true." - Billy S.

Hey Mr Weddle, you wanted us to post our projects on the blog, right? I don't think that just following a blog enables you to edit the content. I'm confused as to how to actually post on the blog, anyway, so, uh, how do we do that?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the project. Most of the sites will take you through the steps of how to do this. It took me a while to figure out the Prezi way.
ReplyDeleteYou should be able to post. Let me check it out.
Hey Mr. Weddle I've got a question about the whole storyboard thing and the 3 resources. What are we doing for the storyboard and how do we turn it in?? And what are we doing resources wise and what did you mean by that exactly?? Also, I wasn't really sure what the 3 things we were being graded on was. If you could clairfy these things for me it'd be much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYour storyboard can be in any configuration that you choose. It can be notes, thoughts, scribbles, etc. Just some sort of planning on some sort of medium. You will turn it in to me on Tuesday. Resource wise, you can use the internet (duh), but I want you to use something from the box or another source that isn't electronic. Go old school. Use a book. Lastly, you are graded on the three topics: Research, Reading and Understanding the play, and the project itself. Plus ten points for meeting the due date.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks! That helps a lot and answered my questions!
ReplyDeleteWell Prezi gives you the html to embed, which is simple enough. But blogspot doesn't allow for you to post on a blog itself if you're just following. I think you have to give us all access by making us all admins or something?
ReplyDeleteMost of you are know added as authors. This will allow you to post your projects now. Sorry about that. Still learners as I go.
